The smooth elegant appearance of marble has been popular in buildings for centuries. Marble has a more veined moving appearance than granite and comes in many color variations. It is more porous and softer than granite and more care is required to prevent damage to its lustrous appearance. As such, marble is not recommended for kitchen countertops, but is well suited around bathtubs, for showers, walls, vanity countertops, around fireplaces and even for home floors. Marble is available as slab and tile.
